New Feature: Click to Apply Industry Limits in DataMonitor
Using DataStar Web, you can limit your searches to specific industries in Datamonitor (DMON) by using the LIMIT options available on the screen. The industries available are Automotive, Banking & Finance, Energy, Pharmaceutical and Telecommunications.
These limits have been applied to all reports back to January 1, 2005. For prior years, continue to search specific industries using search terms and limiting to the industry terms field.


Finding Drug Indications in Gale Group Health Periodicals Database (HLTH)
Indications or uses of specific drugs can be obtained inexpensively in the Gale Group Health Periodicals Database (HLTH) in Datastar.
1. Use ..ROOT and the trade name field for the specific drug:
..root abilify.tn.
2. Choose the appropriate R number from the list to create the first set.
3. Then use ..ROOT for professional from the Target Audience field.
..root professional.at.
4. Combine the two sets:
1 and 2
5. Use ..PRINT to retreive relevant article titles which can be reviewed to determine the approved use of the drug.

Verdict Research Reports Available on DataStar
Verdict Market Research (VERD) are now available on DataStar. Verdict Research Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Datamonitor Plc., is the U.K.’s leading authority on retailing and publishes independent analysis of the retail industry, concentrating on the U.K. and Europe. Their reports focus on specific markets and topical retail issues, combining comparative and statistical data on markets, companies and products with an in-depth commentary on recent and current developments.
Four types of reports are contained in the database:
Sector reports examine the market, products, regional view, and retailers providing an overview and summary of the leading retailers.
Forecast reports provide retail sales trends and consumer spending estimates over a five-year period.
Location reports offer in-depth analysis of different retail locations with up-to-date statistics and opinions on the location, as well as detailed profiles of the retailers represented.
Consumer reports is an annual series revealing the strengths and vulnerabilities of the leading British retailers by sector.

New: Multiple Edit Feature in PrivateStar
PrivateStar (PRIV) is your own personalized file on DataStar, which you can build from documents in DataStar databases, your own research material and data from other external sources.
A new feature on PrivateStar allows you to edit, delete and copy multiple documents at the same time. Three new buttons displayed on the Documents page make it easy to initiate these functions. For example, using the COPY or EDIT buttons, you can append, replace or delete text in a particular field. With the DELETE button you can delete a group of documents at the same time from the documents page.
With these new buttons, using your PrivateStar has become more flexible and faster to use.
Food Science and Technology Abstracts Expands in Key Subject Areas
Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) continues to expand its coverage of key subject areas. Based on extensive research into areas of importance to the food science industry, new topics have been added including obesity, diet regimes, nutritional management and related subject areas. Later in the year FSTA will begin covering pet foods. Japanese patents will also be included in the database.
In addition, coverage is being extended in the areas of nutrition, including sports and exercise nutrition, food allergy, animal studies, dietetic foods, and the medicinal uses of food herbs.
As a result of this increase in coverage, IFIS, the database publisher, has added a number of new journals to the Serials List. You can view the list[www.foodsciencentral.com/fsc/serialpubs], updated annually, or request a copy.
PsycINFO® Reloaded With 2006 Thesaurus
PsycINFO (PSYC) on DataStar has been reloaded with the new 2006 thesaurus. Some of the terminology in the 2006 edition of the thesaurus has been adjusted or modernized. For example, "Family Violence" is now "Domestic Violence". Examples of new terms added include "Geropsychology" (the psychological and behavioral aspects of aging), "Gratitude" and "Mindfulness.

NewsRoom TItles Added to Gale Group Business Files
Over 230 NewsRoom titles have now been added to Gale business databases, including Gale Group PROMT® (PTSP), Gale Group Trade & Industry Database® (INDY), Business & Industry® (BIDB). The titles cover multiple industries: retail, telecom, food, business, chemicals, energy, pharmaceuticals and more and range from newspapers to journals to newsletters.
Sample titles include: Africa & the Middle East Telecom, Chemical Engineering, Czech Business News, Energy Intelligence Briefing and Wine & Spirit Industry Marketing.

More than 50 new titles have been added to Dialog NewsRoom in the last month, including the following Tribune News U.S. newspaper titles:
